Crawler Mini Sumo Robot Body
The Zumo chassis kit contains the necessary components to create a small, high-performance robot platform that is compact enough to participate in Mini Sumo competitions. The case is made of black ABS plastic and has slots for two micro metal gearmotors and a compartment for four AA batteries (motors and batteries not included). The battery compartment terminals protrude from the case and can be accessed from the top. The chassis has a black acrylic plate. This plate holds the motors in place and can be used to mount your electronics such as your microcontroller, motor drivers, and sensors.
Motors (not included)
Zumo chassis uses one motor for each tooth. The ideal motors for your robot depend on your desired torque, speed and current draw, so the motors are not included in the chassis. You can use
Our 12mm reducer motors.
Electronics (not included)
You can add your own motor drives, sensors, and programmable controllers to this chassis or use the Zumo More comprehensive, including electronic parts specially designed for the chassis
You can get one of our Zumo robots.
Batteries (not included)
This case contains four
AA batteries. We recommend using rechargeable AA NiMH cells, which results in a nominal 4.8 V (1.2 V per cell). When the batteries are fully charged, they will be above 5 V, and when they are almost depleted, they will be below 5 V. Therefore, you may want to consider using a step-up/step-down voltage regulator to power your power supply.
Sumo Blade (not included)
A basic stainless steel that can be mounted on the front of the Zumo case
sumo robot sled you can add it. With this blade, the Zumo case can push around objects like other MiniSumo robots. You can also use the design file for this basic blade as a starting point for a custom sumo knife.
Dimensions
Fully assembled, the Zumo body is 98 mm wide , 86 mm long and 39 mm high, with approximately 5 mm ground clearance.
