LM555 DIP-8 Timer IC
LM555 is a very stable device to produce accurate time delays or oscillation. Additional terminals are provided for triggering or resetting when desired. In time-delay operation mode, the time is precisely controlled by an external resistor and capacitor. For stable operation as an oscillator, the free-running frequency and duty cycle are accurately controlled by two external resistors and a capacitor. The circuit can be triggered and reset on falling waveforms, and the output circuit can source or sink up to 200 mA or drive TTL circuits.
