Zumo 32U4 is a highly integrated, user-programmable and customizable crawler robot. It measures less than 10cm on each side and weighs around 275g with batteries (170g without), so it's small and light enough to take part in Mini-Sumo competitions, but its versatility just makes it capable of doing more.
At the heart of the Zumo 32U4 is an ATmega32U4 AVR microcontroller from Microchip (formerly Atmel), the Zumo 32U4 connects to a USB interface It has and comes pre-installed with an Arduino compatible bootloader. There is a software plug-in that makes it easy to program the robot from the Arduino environment, and there are Arduino libraries and sample drawings to get you started. A USB A to Micro-B cable (not included) is required for programming. For advanced users who want to customize or enhance their robot with additional peripherals, the robot's power rails and the microcontroller's I/O lines are accessible through 0.1" clearance holes on the sides and front of the motherboard.
The Zumo 32U4 features two H-bridge motor drives and a variety of integrated sensors, including a dual-dial encoder for closed-loop motor control, a full inertial measurement unit, five down-reflective sensors for following the line or detecting the edge, and obstacle detection. Front- and side-facing proximity sensors for detection and range. "Zumo 32U4 Robot Kit" width="600" height="550"
