A4988 SMD Stepper Motor Driver IC
A4988 stepper motor driver IC. QFN-28 is the case.
A4988 is a complete micro stepping motor driver with built-in converter for easy use. Designed to operate bipolar stepper motors in full, half, quarter, eighth and sixteenth step modes with output drive capability up to 35 V and ± 2 A. The A4988 includes a fixed operating time current regulator that can operate in Slow or Mixed decay modes. Entering just one pulse into the STEP input drives the motor one microstep. There are no phase sequence tables, high frequency controls or complex interfaces to programs. The A4988 interface is ideal for applications where a complex microprocessor is unavailable or overloaded. During stepping, the interrupt control on the A4988 automatically selects the current distortion mode, either Fade or Mixed.
Features:
- Low RDS (ON) outputs
- Automatic current distortion mode detection / selection
- Mixed and Slow current decay modes
- Synchronous correction for low power consumption
- Built-in UVLO
- Cross-current protection
- 3, 3 and 5 V compatible logic supply
- Thermal shutdown circuit
- Short circuit protection to ground
