DS1233 follows two vital conditions for a microprocessor: power supply and external override. A precise temperature-compensated reference and comparator circuit is used to monitor the status of the power supply (VCC). When an out-of-tolerance condition is detected, an internal power failure signal is generated, forcing a reset to the active state. When VCC returns to an out-of-tolerance state, the reset signal is kept active for approximately 350 ms to allow the power supply and processor to stabilize. The second function of the DS1233 is pushbutton reset control. The DS1233 prevents a push button from closing and generates a 350 ms reset pulse when released.
