Graphit 33 Conductive Spray
Thermoplastic binder containing electrically conductive graphite powder.
PROPERTIES
GRAPHIT 33 contains highly pure and fine graphite powder. This results in good electrical conductivity of the graphite finish as well as slip and release properties. The coating exhibits good adhesion to metal, many plastics, glass and wood.
APPLICATIONS
As a conductive coating for permanent and safe diversion of electrostatic discharge (ESD).
- Backs of cathode rag tubes
- Electroplating of non-conductive materials
- ESD safe packages
- Graphite in keyboard switches (e.g. remote controls) repair of coated pcbs
- Reinforcing ESD protection of packaging and conveyor pipe equipment. As a sliding coating for permanent, temperature-resistant, dry sliding coating. As high temperature release agent: conductive protective release coating for high voltage contacts, high temperature release agent, e.g. For molds used for sintering abrasive materials in abrasive discs. Optical applications: the dark black color makes GRAPHIT 33 suitable as an absorbent coating, for example in laser applications.
INSTRUCTIONS
Relatively small quantities involved , the easiest way to apply GRAPHIT 33 is by spraying from an aerosol can. Shake the can well before use. Spray on a dry and degreased surface from a distance of 20-30 cm. After use, always clean the button by spraying it upside down until only gas escapes.
When larger amounts are needed, GRAPHIT 33 can be applied by spraying using commercial spray guns. Mix vigorously before use (best for 10 minutes with a propeller mixer). Shake or stir at regular intervals during use.
Surface resistance can be further reduced by heating at 90°C (1 hour) or polishing with a cloth or stick. Polishing also makes the weak graphite layer stronger. At temperatures above 100°C the binder decomposes. However, e.g. release the coating.
When GRAPHIT 33 is used in vacuum equipment, the polish must be preheated. Make sure there is good ventilation when using GRAPHIT 33. Eliminate all sources of ignition.
