Kontakt 60 Oxide Cleaner Spray
Cleaning agent for electrical contacts containing special additives to dissolve corrosion products.
PROPERTIES
- KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 is a contact cleaning oil that can be used to repair worn electrical contacts.
- It can be dispensed economically and accurately with a special spray tube.
- In addition to the corrosion-dissolving components, the spray can be used for oily or It contains a mixture of solvents that also removes resinous residues. Problems with electrical contacts actually arise not only from corrosion, but also from polluting gases that form coatings ("polymers") with low electrical conductivity on the contact surfaces.
- KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 is also supplied as a concentrate. The concentrate is normally diluted with KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt WL and then has properties comparable to the aerosol. See also special application instructions on page 2.
APPLICATIONS
- Provides clean results wherever electrical contacts need to be cleaned.< /LI>
- Removes oxides from all types of metal contacts in electronic, automotive and industrial applications. Common areas of use: switches, plug and socket connectors, sockets of integrated circuits, fuses, lamp sockets, slide contacts,…
INSTRUCTIONS
KONTAKT CHEMIE The easiest way to apply Kontakt 60 is to use aerosol. A few droplets per contact pair are usually sufficient.
The cleaning and deoxidizing effect can be improved by mechanical support. If the switching or connector contacts are easily accessible, they can be carefully wiped, for example using cellulose, leather or cotton swabs.
If it is not possible to provide mechanical support, allow KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 to penetrate for about 10-15 minutes. The dissolved dirt and corrosion products must then be rinsed with KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt WL. KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 61 is then applied as a protective film.
KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 works in many cases without post-treatment. However, this increases the risk of corrosion damage occurring again after a short time. The contacts of very large plug connectors and robust relays can also be sprayed with KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 40 to protect against corrosion. A contact may not be damaged by corrosion, but only by contamination, resinization, etc. KONTAKT CHEMIE 61 can be used directly without further pre-treatment. When very large quantities of KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 are consumed, the use of the concentrate can be economical. Dilute according to instructions. When using Kontakt 60 in mass production, plastic compatibility must be tested. Particular attention should be paid to plastics susceptible to stress cracking (e.g. polycarbonate and polystyrene) and parts subject to heavy mechanical loads. Diluted solutions and aerosol spray of KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 contain flammable solvents. Therefore, liquids should not be sprayed on energized equipment. The solvent must be completely evaporated before the equipment is restarted. At least 15 minutes should be allowed for this. Local conditions may require a longer drying time, especially when there is insufficient fresh air flow to treated areas. Further information on safety can be found in the safety data sheet.
Optimum contact cleaning in 3 stages
Stage 1: Contact 60 dissolves the corrosion layers and thus metallic restores contact.
2. Without the and 3rd stages, it is possible for corrosion to occur again after a certain period of time. This depends on the material and ambient conditions.
Stage 2: Kontakt WL removes dissolved corrosion products, grease and dirt.
Stage 3: Kontakt 61 forms a thin shield that prevents corrosion and wear creates a movie.
