Kontakt 61 Surface Protective Spray
A special cleaning, lubricating and anti-corrosion agent designed for all types of electrical contacts and electromechanical moving parts.
PROPERTIES
The solvent mixture in KONTAKT 61 dissolves greasy dirt, oils and resinous deposits, creates a slippery and lubricating film, repels moisture and protects against corrosion.
APPLICATIONS
- To clean dirty contacts (we recommend KONTAKT 60 for worn contacts)
- To lubricate slides and sockets, reducing the sensitivity of contact surfaces to wear
- Used to protect contact surfaces against moisture and corrosion.
INSTRUCTIONS
- The easiest way to apply KONTAKT 61 is from an aerosol can. An extension tube is also provided. Spray generously to clean contact surfaces. However, a few droplets on each pair of contacts are sufficient to create a lubricating and protective film.
- KONTAKT 61's cleaning action, e.g. Operate the switch several times, push the plug in and out. For extremely dirty or worn contacts, we recommend our special contact cleaner, KONTAKT 60.
- KONTAKT 61 removes moisture and creates a micron-thin lubricating and protective film. Under normal conditions, this film does not affect electrical conductivity. However, at very low voltages, e.g. <1 volt, it is possible that the field strength is insufficient to break the oil film. In these cases individual testing is required.
- We recommend the use of our synthetic contact lubricant KONTAKT GOLD 2000 to reduce wear and tear of soft noble metal (plated) contacts.
- When using KONTAKT 61, all Sources of ignition must be removed. Do not spray on energized equipment.
